On day 39 I gave you the four-question filter for anyone selling help, and question four was "who is this wrong for?", with the note that honest sellers answer promptly. This edition is my answer, in writing, as promised. Who should not join the Executive Cohort:
Don't join if you want motivation. I don't do fire. I do mechanics. If what you need is to feel powerful on a Tuesday, there are louder and cheaper options everywhere, and no hard feelings.
Don't join if you won't do the between-session work. The results quoted in this series came from members who sent the notes, ran the maps, had the conversations: roughly three hours a week of doing. If you know, honestly, that you'll watch and not act, keep your money. The lurker version of this programme doesn't work, and I'd rather lose the sale than have the refund conversation.
Don't join mid-crisis. Month one of a firing, a breakdown, a divorce-plus-house-move: the cohort is for building, and building needs a floor. Stabilise first. Email me anyway and I'll point you somewhere useful, free.
Don't join if the game still disgusts you. If 44 days hasn't shifted "my work should speak for itself" (day 17), one more programme won't. That belief has to crack before the mechanics can get in, and it usually cracks on evidence, not persuasion. Wait for your evidence; it tends to arrive at promotion time.
Don't join for me. Join for the version of you six months out: the one whose manager walks into the autumn talent review armed (day 4), whose map is warm (day 16), whose sentence gets said in the room (day 25). I'm the mechanic. That person is the destination.
